Annual Santa Claus Parade will go on without an audience this year

Toronto’s Santa Claus Parade will go on without an audience for the first time in more than 100 years.

On Friday, officials announced that the parade will be televised as a two hour special on December 5.

Mayor John Tory said, “Despite the ongoing pandemic, we’ve found a way to make sure Santa Claus is still coming to town. I am pleased that this tradition will continue in a way that families can safely enjoy.”

The parade will air at 7 p.m. on CTV and CTV2.
