The House of Commons has passed legislation providing new benefits to those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
On Wednesday morning, Bill C-4 passed, after four and a half hours of debate on the legislation’s contents.
The minority Liberal government has survived its first pandemic-era confidence test, assuring that there will be no election as new COVID-19 cases spike across the country.
Conservative MPs, who had protested against fast-tracking the Bill, voted for it.
The Bill still needs to be passed by the Senate, which is scheduled to gather Wednesday.
