House of Commons Pandemic Aid Bill Passes Unanimously

The House of Commons has passed legislation providing new benefits to those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

On Wednesday morning, Bill C-4 passed, after four and a half hours of debate on the legislation’s contents.

The minority Liberal government has survived its first pandemic-era confidence test, assuring that there will be no election as new COVID-19 cases spike across the country.

Conservative MPs, who had protested against fast-tracking the Bill, voted for it.

The Bill still needs to be passed by the Senate, which is scheduled to gather Wednesday.
