Liberal government says it would extend the pandemic wage subsidy

On Wednesday, during the throne speech, the liberal government said it would extend the pandemic wage subsidy and establish a national child-care strategy.

The Canada Emergency Business Account, which provides the business community interest-free loans of up to $40,000, will also be extended. 

The extension will last until the summer of 2021.

Trevin Stratton, a chief economist with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, said he was glad by the promise of a comprehensive child-care and early learning system, which will help women who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
