Province aims to recruit 3,700 new workers in efforts to help with second wave of Covid-19

On Monday, the Ford government announced that it will spend $52.5 million to add 3,700 workers at its hospitals and long term care homes, to help prepare for the second wave of the coronavirus.

On Friday, Premier Doug Ford said to new nursing and health graduates, “Please consider joining the fight – all it takes is a few good men and women to give us the upper hand and that could make all the difference in the world.”

The new funds will offer 2,000 new personal support worker graduates a $5000 signing bonus as long as they commit to working in a long-term care system for the next six months.
