    On a big stage with a big crowd, Alphonso Davies led team Canada to a 4-1 qualifier match win against Panama. Davies scored a remarkable opening goal midway through the second half of the match, Wednesday afternoon. Canada and Panama were playing in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying play.

    Davies, the 20-year-old Bayern Munich star scored in an incredible fashion, highlighting his speed, acceleration, and flair. The goal even got the attention of global hip-hop star Drake, who according to Canada’s coach message Davies after the game, saying he wants to get together. Team Canada is ranked 51st in the world compared to Panama who is ranked 68th.

    Davies was subbed off in the 81st minute to a standing ovation, where he celebrated shirtless and waving his hands. He talked in a post-game interview saying “Everybody put a shift in tonight,” Canada’s next matches are also at home, against Costa Rica on November 12 and Mexico on November 16.
