Here is a look at what you may have missed overnight at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Unfortunately, Canada couldn’t add to its medal haul early Friday in Beijing. In curling, Jennifer Jones lost a match against Japan on Friday 8-5.

This was Jones’s first-ever Olympic loss in 13 draws. She now has a 1-1 record at the Beijing Games after opening the tournament with a 12-7 win over South Korea on Thursday.  In the women’s Super-G event on Friday, Quebec native Marie-Michele Gagnon was the fastest Canadian. She finished 14th in a time of one minute and 14.65 seconds.

A gold medal in the women’s super-G event went to Switzerland’s Lare Gut- Behrami who posted a time of 1:13.51. In speed skating, Graeme Fish finished sixth in the men’s long-track speedskating’s 10,000 metres. His teammate and defending Olympic champion Ted-Jan Bloemen faded early on to finish eighth.
