    Jon Batiste was able to take home 5 Grammys while Canada’s Joni Mitchell grabbed an early award. Batiste won album of the year on Sunday, and Silk Sonic won four awards including record of the year and song of the year. Singer Olivia Rodrigo was able to win three Grammys including best new artist, best pop solo performance and best pop album.

    Silk Sonic, Bruno Mars, and Anderson .Paak won awards for best R&B performance and best R&B song. Rodrigo, Silk Sonic, and J Balvin opened the televised portion at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Canadian singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell won a Grammy for best historical album during the non-televised portion of the award show.

    A Canadian Cuban performer Alex Cuba won his first Grammy for best Latin pop album. Montreal conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin received his first Grammy for best orchestral performance. The Weeknd also picked up a Grammy for best melodic rap performance.
