The best time for viewing the meteor shower will probably be Monday night to Tuesday morning if skies are clear. Geminid can be considered the “best and most reliable” meteor shower of the year and it still puzzles astronomers. According to NASA, this celestial event happens every December which makes it reliable.

An astronomy professor at Western University in London, Ontario, is calling the event the “strongest meteor shower of the year”. Meteors can also be called shooting stars, and they appear as points of light that streak across the night sky. It’s caused by the dust and small rocks passing into the atmosphere and burning up.

Even though you can see a shooting star any night of the year, meteor showers are special because you can expect a lot more. These events only happen several times a year. Another well-known shower is the Perseids, which happens in August and which many people see while out camping or at the cottage.
