    Wondering what happened on Day 4 of the Beijing Paralympic Games? Here’s what happened. Mark Arendzfrom Hartsville, P.E.I. was able to capture a gold medal on Tuesday. He won the men’s standing 10-kilometre biathlon event to capture his second medal at the Beijing Paralympics. 

    Claiming Canada’s 5th gold medal at the Paralympics, Arendz won a bronze medal in the men’s standing Para biathlon 6km sprint race on Day 1. Arendz is 32 years of age and has accumulated 10 Paralympic medals in his lifetime. In total, he has two gold, three silver, and five bronze over the span of three Winter Games. 

    To claim his gold medal, Arendz finished the biathlon with a time of 31 minutes 45.2 seconds. He was the only competitor in the event to shoot clean and he was 32.8 seconds faster than the silver medalist. Canada is now third in the medal standings behind China and Ukraine.
