Today, Ontario’s science table is set to release new COVID-19 projections. The new modeling will be posted online at 2 p.m. but the normal Tuesday briefing from Ontario’s chief medical officer of health is rescheduled to Wednesday. With vaccinations rates up, Ontario’s daily cases count has remained under 1,000 amid a fourth wave.

The seven-day rolling average showed a slight plateau since the beginning of September. The previous modeling for COVID-19 in Ontario estimated around 4,000 daily cases at this point in the pandemic. The reality is that cases have been steadily decreasing since September 1.

The past four days Ontario has recorded cases counts under 700, and on Monday there were 613 new cases with no new deaths. The province implemented its vaccine certificate program on September 22, which allows only fully vaccinated individuals to go to any non-essential establishments.
