    Nintendo’s profit in their April-June Quarter increased by 28 per cent from last year with a healthy demand for its games. However, the company’s console sales were on the decline due to the shortage of semiconductor microchips. 

    Nintendo, is a Japanese video game company that is behind the Super Mario and Pokémon franchises. On Wednesday, It said that the last quarter totaled 118.9 billion yen or US$895 million. This is an increase of 92,7 billion yen in the same period in 2021. 

    According to Kyoto-based Nintendo Co., quarterly sales fell 4.7 per cent to 307.4 billion yen. Other game makers, such as Sony Group Corp., and automakers have been hurt by the shortfalls in supplies of the chips.
