    On Monday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 1,074 new infections of COVID-19 however, the number is an estimate due to testing restrictions. There are at least 693 patients in hospitals for COVID-19 and 249 people are in intensive care units. This is the second day in a row where the province has reported under 700 hospitalizations.

    Last week, 92.7 per cent of Ontarians over the age of 12 have one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and  90.6 per cent had two doses. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 11.8 per cent as it processed over 9,447 tests in the last 24-hour period. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the province has identified 1,114,284 lab-confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

    Since December 2020, more than 31,000,000 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the province. There were 187 new cases logged in Toronto, 55 cases in York Region, and 57 in Peel Region. The province also reported 58 cases in Windsor-Essex, 69 in Ottawa, and 58 in Middlesex-London.
