    On Monday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 1,116 new infections of COVID-19 however, the number is an estimate due to testing restrictions. Officials did not report how many people are currently in Ontario hospitals with COVID-19 but they reported 228 people are in intensive care units. Officials said that 79 of the people in ICU are fully vaccinated and 46 of the people are unvaccinated.

    Last week, 92.7 per cent of Ontarians over the age of 12 have one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and  90.6 per cent had two doses. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 12.1 per cent as it processed over 7,565 tests in the last 24-hour period. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the province has identified 1,126,456 lab-confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

    Since December 2020, more than 31,000,000 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the province. There were 244 new cases logged in Toronto, 60 cases in York Region, and 43 in Peel Region. The province also reported 58 cases in Middlesex-London, 54 in Ottawa, and 51 in the Niagara Region.
