    On Tuesday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 1,429 new infections of COVID-19 signifying a slight decrease from yesterday. The province’s positivity rate has reached its highest level in months. There are at least 385 patients in hospitals for COVID-19 and 156 people are in intensive care units.

    The seven-day rolling average rose to 1,328 today as it was at 940 at this point last week. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 6.6 per cent as it processed over 33,400 tests in the last 24-hour period. Of the cases reported today, 493 involved people who are unvaccinated and 809 were in people who are vaccinated.

    According to Ontario, 24,584,000 shots have been administered to people in the province. There were 239 new cases logged in Toronto, 85 cases in Kingston, and 103 in Peel Region. The province also reported 84 cases in Middlesex-London, 120 in Ottawa, and 128 in York Region.
