    On Tuesday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 2,622 new infections of COVID-19 however, the number is an estimate due to testing restrictions. Ontario passed over 1,000,000  lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases last week. There are at least 3,091 patients in hospitals for COVID-19 and 587 people are in intensive care units.

    The province said that 231 of the people in ICU are fully vaccinated, 199 are unvaccinated and 18 are partially vaccinated. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 16.2 per cent as it processed over 16,380 tests in the last 24-hour period. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the province has identified 1,035,916 lab-confirmed cased of the coronavirus.

    Since December 2020, more than 30,000,000 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the province. There were 606 new cases logged in Toronto, 133 cases in York Region, and 334 in Peel Region. The province also reported 130 cases in Waterloo Region, 205 in Ottawa, and 96 in Halton Region.
