    On Tuesday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 3,424 new infections of COVID-19 however, the number is an estimate due to lack of testing. Ontario passed over 1,000,000  lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday. There are at least 4,008 patients in hospitals for COVID-19 and 626 people are in intensive care units.

    According to Health Minister Christine Elliott, of those in the ICU about 85 per cent of patients have been admitted due to COVID-19. The Ministry of Health could not report Ontario’s positivity rate because the number of tests was not given to the government. As of Monday, 91.6 per cent of Ontarians over the age of 12 have one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 88.9 per cent are considered fully vaccinated.

    Since December 2020, more than 30,000,000 doses of a COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the province. There were 570 new cases logged in Toronto, 197 cases in York Region, and 527 in Peel Region. The province also reported 159 cases in Windsor- Essex, 218 in Ottawa, and 185 in Hamilton.
