    On Tuesday, health officials in Ontario are reporting 928 new infections of COVID-19 signifying an increase from yesterday. On Monday, officials logged 887 new cases, Sunday the province reported 1,184, and Saturday they logged 1,053. Currently, there are at least 340 people in hospitals for COVID-19 and 165 patients are in intensive care units

    The seven-day rolling average rose to 975 today as it was at 794 at this point last week. The Ministry of Health says the positivity rate is at 3.8 per cent as it processed over 26,136 tests in the last 24-hour period. Of the cases reported today, 424 involved people who are unvaccinated and 401 were in people who are vaccinated.

    According to Ontario, as of Monday, 11,295,706 people in the province have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. There were 163 new cases logged in Toronto, 51 cases in Windsor-Essex, and50 in Peel Region. The province also reported 58 cases in Sudbury, 48 in Ottawa, and 84 in York Region.
