    Later today, Ottawa is set to unveil details about its upcoming proof-of-vaccination system intended for international travellers. A senior government source confirmed to CBC News that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to explain the details at 10 a.m. in Ottawa. The briefing will include the Public Health Agency of Canada, Transport Canada, Indigenous Services Canada, and Canada Border Services Agency.

    Ontario just uncovered its enhanced vaccine certificate, which uses a QR code that is built into the SMART Health Card. It is still unsure when vaccine certificates from other provinces will be accepted for international travel. For months now the federal government has been working on making an internationally recognized vaccine passport.

    The current COVID-19 vaccination documents in Canada are not standardized for international travel, according to the federal government. There are a few countries in the world the developed an internationally recognized vaccine passport system. Residents in the European Union have access to Digital COVID Certificate, which allows cross-border travel within the EU.
