Canadian PayPal users will be charged a fee on accounts that have not been used within a 12-month period. The fee will be implemented on November 20 according to a PayPal spokesperson “The fee will only apply to accounts that have been inactive for 12 months – where the account holder has not logged in to the account or used it to send or receive money during that period.”

The online payment system said the fee won’t be applied to accounts that have a zero balance or are in the red. An example of how the fee will work is if a user carries a balance of $8 for more than a year with no activity, the account will be charged $8. The maximum fee that can be given is $20.

To avoid the fee, just simply log into your account before November 20, 2021. If the user does not log in by that date, they will receive an email before the fee is applied. PayPal spokesperson said the waring email “will inform the customer about how to use the balance available on the account.”
