National weather agency Environment Canada has announced a winter weather travel advisory for Toronto as snow is expected this evening.  According to the agency,  the city could receive anywhere from two and five centimetres of snow by the time it starts to taper off overnight.

This evening will bring the highest rate of snowfall which will accumulate on the ground. As a result, it may cause some issues for motorists and individuals using public transit. Environment Canada said “Accumulating snow on untreated roadways may impact travel and motorists are advised to exercise caution,”

All motorists are encouraged to adjust their driving to the different and potentially more dangerous road conditions. Other areas across the GTHA affected by the advisory include Hamilton, Halton, Peel, York, and Durham Regions.
