The Twitter platform had an outage that began around 8 a.m. and lasted roughly an hour. The social media app appears to be returning some users after the outage impacted both its app and website. The outage happened on Thursday and  many individuals attempting to use the platform were greeted with a message.

The message said “Tweets aren’t loading right now. Try again.” According to the website Downdetector, users started reporting the outage around 8 a.m. ET. After the platform became operational again, Twitter’s own status page showed a message that wrote “All Systems Operational.”

This worldwide outage came at a critical point for Twitter. The company has just sued billionaire Elon Musk in an attempt to force his $44-billion US purchase of the company. The last outage Twitter had suffered was earlier this year in February.
