The tallest living woman is a 24-year-old from Turkey measuring 215.16 centimetres or 7 feet, 0.7 inches. The Guinness World Records confirmed Rumeysa Gelgi as the tallest living woman and stated it is due to a condition. Her condition is called Weaver syndrome, which accelerates growth and other abnormalities in the body.

Gelgi held the title of world’s tallest living female teenager in 2014 when she was 18-years-old. She was re-measured this year to claim her new title. With her condition, Gelgi usually transports using a wheelchair, but she is able to use a walker for short durations. Gelgi wants to use her platform and popularity to inform people of rare medical conditions.

In a statement, Gelgi said “Every disadvantage can be turned into an advantage for yourself so accept yourself for who you are, be aware of your potential and do your best,” The tallest living man in the world is Sultan Kösen, also from Turkey and stands at 251 centimetres or 8 feet, 2.8 inches tall.
