    As part of the new restrictions to help slow the spread of COVID-19, Quebec became the first Province to institute a curfew.

    Beginning on Saturday, anyone who violates the curfew between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. without a valid reason could face fines of up to $6,000.

    Premier François Legault announced that the curfew is meant to ease the burden on the health care system.

    On Wednesday, Quebec’s public health director, Dr. Horacio Arruda, questioned the curfew as no study proves that the curfew will stop transmission.
