Updated Gathering Limits
Limits reduced to five people indoors and 10 people outdoors.
Organized public events limited to five people indoors.
Employees must work remotely unless their work requires them to be on-site.
Capacity Limits Reduced
Capacity at indoor weddings, funerals, and religious services, rites and ceremonies will be limited to 50 per cent capacity of a particular room. Outdoor services are limited to the number of people that can maintain two metres of physical distance. Social gatherings associated with these services must adhere to the social gathering limits.
Retail limited to 50% capacity.
Personal care services reduced to 50 per cent capacity except for saunas, steam rooms, and oxygen bars, which will be closed.
Public libraries limited to 50 per cent capacity.
Closures
Indoor meeting and event spaces must close with no exceptions. Outdoor spaces can remain open with restrictions.
No indoor dining. Outdoor dining will still be permitted, but with restrictions.
Indoor entertainment will be closed.
Museums, galleries, zoos, science centres, landmarks, historic sites, botanical gardens and similar attractions, amusement parks and waterparks, tour and guide services and fairs, rural exhibitions, and festivals will all close. Reduction to 50 per cent capacity will be imposed on outdoor establishments.
Indoor horse racing tracks will be closed.
Indoor sport and recreation facilities will be closed, except for training facilities for athletes preparing for Olympics and Paralympics. Outdoor facilities are permitted to operate but with 50 per cent reduced capacity.
School Closures
All schools both public and private will operate remote learning beginning January 5. Online learning will continue for at least 2 weeks until January 17.
Child care will continue at school buildings. Special education will continue for those who cannot be accommodated remotely.
Hospital Procedures
Non-emergency and non-urgent procedures will be postponed to, “preserve critical care and human resources capacity.”
