As the U.S. land border reopens some Canadians with mixed vaccines are still in limbo. Being fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca should be fine but there are no indications if having mixed vaccines will allow land travel to the U.S. The U.S. will open land travel for non-essential purposes in early November.
At the same time, the States will start requiring that foreign land and air travellers entering the U.S. will have to be fully vaccinated. As of right now, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control does not recognize mixing vaccines as being considered fully vaccinated. So, if you received a shot of AstraZeneca and Pfizer or Moderna, it is still unclear if you will be allowed entry into the U.S.
A spokesperson Jade Fulce said on Wednesday that the “CDC will release additional guidance and information as the travel requirements are finalized later this month,“ There are millions of Canadians who have received mixed vaccines and some are frustrated that the country has not confirmed anything yet. Brain Butler, who has mixed vaccinations said “Just make a decision,… Someone with a mixed vaccination I don’t think is a threat of spreading COVID in the States.“
