With Ontario entering into stage 3, some provinces allow open houses to resume with rules and regulations being placed due to the ongoing global pandemic. Before showcasing their houses, homeowners need to sanitize their homes before viewings to ensure safety and homes will have washing stations. Both potential homeowners and sellers need to sign waivers and questionnaires to any symptoms or exposure to COVID-19.
All showcasing will have their doors and lights open to minimize touching. Agents and Visitors must wear gloves and masks. Only real estate agents will be allowed to open or close doors if needed.
With Stage 3 new rules, only allowing 50 people gatherings and 30 percent gathering with physical distancing applied. Real estate agents have restrictions on the number of people viewing homes.
Local news reports, while open houses are reopening, not all sellers, or buyers feel comfortable with the idea. Virtual showing is still an option.
Frank Leo poses a new strategy to effectively sell houses. Leo recommends no longer doing open houses due to it reaching a few people and often the wrong buyers and not knowing if the visitors are serious buyers. Leo is able to reach millions of potential buyers now. Clients are able to call and make appointments before visiting a property in which they know the location and prices ahead of time.
