    On Tuesday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 struck the coast of northern Chile. The Chilean Navy says there were no immediate reports of damages or casualties and no possibility of a tsunami.

    The earthquake happened at 12:09 a.m. local time, 78 kilometres northeast of Atacama city of Vallenar; a second earthquake occurred a couple of minutes after with a 6.3 magnitude. 

    The earthquake was felt in Santiago and in Antofagasta, which is 1,330 kilometres further north.
