According to Statistics Canada, in August, the consumer price index was up 0.1 per cent compared to last year.
In July, the annual inflation rate didn’t change from the year-over-year increase of 0.1 per cent.
According to Refinitiv, a financial markets data firm, the economist estimate had been for a year-over-year increase of 0.4 per cent for August.
