In five countries, the tiger populations are slowly increasing, but the endangered species still face threats such as poaching. India is home to 70 percent of the tiger’s global population, and it is 1 of 13 countries that have pledged to increase its numbers. “From a historic population low in 2010, tigers are finally making a remarkable comeback in much of South Asia, Russia, and China,” said Stuart Chapman, head of WWF Tigers Alive Initiative.
