    Canadian Economy Suffers the Loss of 63,000 Jobs in December

    According to Statistics Canada, the economy lost 63,000 jobs in December, which is the first decline since April.

    Unemployment surged to 8.6 per cent from 8.5 per cent reported in November. 

    As restrictions put in place to slow down the spread of COVID-19 began to ease, it ended a streak of monthly job gain that began in May.
