Today, Ontario health officials reported 2,073 new cases of the COVID-19 novel virus. Making it the lowest daily case count since March 24 when officials noted 1,571 infections that day.
The number of cases today is much lower than the previous days before. On Monday, 2,716 cases were reported, on Sunday there were 2,864 new cases, and on Saturday there were 3,216 new reported cases.
That brings Ontario’s seven-day average to 2,914 new COVID-19 infections. There were 28,109 tests processed in the last 24 hours, so the positivity rate today is 8.5 percent.
