    Health officials have reported the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in nearly two months. They logged exactly 1,616 cases today on Tuesday which is a lot less than Monday’s total of 2,170  infections. The last day the number of infections was this low was on March 24 when 1,571 new infections were logged.

    The data collected today was based on the completion of 22,915 tests in the last 24 hour period. The Ministry of Health confirms that the positivity rate is at 7.6 percent. Ontario’s seven-day average now drops to 2,287 which is a big improvement from a week ago. As of right now, there are around 24,966 active cases of coronavirus across Ontario.

    The new COVID-19 cases were mostly found in Toronto and Peel Region. York Region, Hamilton, and Durham region had around 100 new infections each.
