An online survey by Leger and the Association for Canadians Studies showed sixty-nine per cent of respondents think restrictions should remain in place as people continue to get vaccinated. The Leger executive vice-president Christian Borque said Canadians are still very careful and cautious about lifting restrictions.
Furthermore, Bourque explained in an interview “We’ll see this number change once governments have said that they’ve reached their vaccination targets. So, a few more weeks at least.”
This online poll included 1,542 adult Canadians and was available from June 18 to 20. Since internet-based surveys are not considered random samples, they cannot be assigned a margin of error.
According to Bourque the physical and mental health of many Canadians has been worse since the start of the pandemic. People are exercising less, gaining weight, drinking more alcohol, and smoking more cannabis.
