For the first time in 28 years, the Montreal Canadiens are heading to the Stanley Cup final. It was 1993 the last time they were in the finals and they happened to win it all. Artturi Lehkoned was the hero of this story after he scored the game-winning goal at 1:39 of overtime played. The game was last night on Thursday and the 3-2 win ended the series at 4-2 for Montreal.

To score the goal Lehkonen received a pass from Philip Danault off the rush and then fired his third playoff goal top shelf on Robin Lehner. Carey Price managed to stop a total of 37 shots for Montreal. Shea Weber and Cole Caufield were the other goal scorers that helped hype up the 3,500 fans. The Habs are set to play either Tampa Bay Lighting or New YorkIslanders in the final. Their semifinal matchup is even at 3-3 with game 76 to be played Friday.

Reilly Smith and Alec Martinez each scored to tie up the game and force overtime. Vezina Trophy finalist Marc-Andre Fleury managed to stop a total of 29 shots. The Vegas Golden Knights finished second in their regular season, 23 points in front of the Canadiens who ranked 18th.
