The Toronto Blue Jays could be playing back in Canada at the Rogers Centre as early as July 30. Organizers on the team submitted an application to the federal government that could let them return. If approved the Blue Jays would return to their hometown to play the rest of the 2021 season.
As a part of the province’s reopening plan, attendance policies and restrictions would be controlled by Ontario’s Return-To-Play Framework. The Blue Jays have been playing solely in the U.S. since last March. Their home games were being played at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Florida until being movies to Buffalo’s Sahlen Field in June.
July 30, marks the date when the Blue Jays begin a 10-game homestand. They still have not announced the venues for the games against Kansas, Cleveland, and Boston. Data released on June 25 by the MLB shows 23 out of the 30 big-league teams have fully vaccinated 85 per cent of individuals, including platers, managers, coaches, doctors, trainers, and strength and conditioning staff.
