Later this week there will be a historic launch that will send the first all-civilian crew into space. Another billionaire entrepreneur is set to join the launch as Elon Musk will be strapped inside the capsule of a SpaceX rocketship. The American founder and chief executive of e-commerce firm Shift4 Payments, Jared Isaacman will lead the all-civilian crew on a three-day trip from the launch point at Cape Canaveral, Florida, and land in the Atlantic.

Isaacman the tech mogul paid an unspecified but most likely massive sum of money to Elon Musk and SpaceX to fly himself and three specially selected travel buddies. The SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule is set to take off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center atop one of Musk’s reusable Falcon 9 rockets and has a 5-hour window that opens at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Forecasts made on Sunday displayed a 70 per cent chance of favourable weather conditions to launch, according to organizers. If this flight goes well it could spark a new era for commercial space tourism. There are already several firms leading towards this as they look for wealthy customers who would pay a small fortune to experience something out of this world.
