Tim Hortons has just teamed up with Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber to launch 3 new Timbit flavours along with co-branded merchandise. The new flavours will be called Timbiebs as a celebrity endorsement that could attract new customers. Bruce Winder, a retail analyst said “it helps them appeal to a younger demographic, which is something they desperately need to do,”
It may also give Tim Hortons the opportunity to build brand awareness in the United States. The U.S. poses strict competition for Tim Hortons, as there are other successful chains such as Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks. Justin Bieber has made frequent social media posts about the restaurant.
Raised in Stratford, Ontario, Bieber has expressed missing Tim Hortons while travelling outside Canada. In a statement, Bieber said “Doing a Tim Hortons collab has always been a dream of mine… I grew up on Tim Hortons and it’s always been something close to my heart.”
