The Ontario government will be giving an update Thursday on the distribution of rapid antigen COVID-19 tests. Ottawa has previously said they will be dispersing 140 million rapid tests across the province. Officials handling the topic are scheduled to hold a briefing for the media at 1:30 E.T.

140 million tests are almost four themes the amount handed out in December 2021. Yesterday, more health measures were implemented in Ontario to help curb the spread of the virus. This included widespread business closures and a temporary return to online school. Hospitals are also required to pause non-urgent surgeries due to rising COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations.

Rapid tests and PCR tests have been difficult to find due to the surge in the Omicron variant. Some residents are waking up early in the morning to get in line at testing locations that take first come first serve. The wait to book an appointment at certain locations will have you waiting a long time.
