As the Omicron surges through Canada, more people than ever before have been getting infected, including fully vaccinated individuals. According to doctors who spoke to CBC News, most Canadians that are double vaccinated will experience flu-like symptoms that can be treated with lots of rest and fluids.

Some experts and a few people with first-hand experience explain what you can expect to feel despite being vaccinated and how to treat the symptoms at home. Dr. Katharine said if you have received a booster shot, “the chances are you’re going to have a mild or moderate course of illness,… Very, very few people are requiring hospitalization if they’re fully vaccinated – which is encouraging.”

Common Omicron symptoms include runny nose, sore throat, cough, and sometimes diarrhea and vomiting. Some people have general feelings of fatigue and muscle aches. The symptoms usually tend to last 2-10 days and if you are vaccinated it will be on the shorter side.
