    Environment Canada released a range of weather alerts in Ontario, including blizzard warnings for Toronto and Hamilton. The national weather agency also sent alerts for a broad swath of southern Ontario, and snowfall warnings for the Barrie area. The alerts were updated by Environment Canada at 7:45 a.m. ET on Monday. 

    Forecasters said the blizzard warning for Toronto will bring between 25 and 40 centimeters of snow. In a statement, Environment Canada said “Blizzard conditions with gusty winds and persistent visibility near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring,” The city of Toronto is recommending people to stay home if possible.

    The Toronto District School Board announced in the morning that they will be transitioning to remote-learning due to weather conditions.  The city of Hamilton is under a blizzard warning, with the worst conditions expected before 11 a.m. ET, according to Environment Canada. Forecasters warned that “travel is expected to be extremely hazardous due to widespread poor visibility.”
