The snowstorm that shut down schools in areas of southern Ontario and Quebec yesterday will keep many of them closed for another day. Some parts of the prairies that have already been hit with freezing rain, now face plunging temperatures and storms. Several boards in the Toronto area, such as Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, the Toronto Catholic District School Board, and the York Region District School Board will be remote learning today.

However, the Toronto District School Board said there will be no virtual learning today. They noted in an online post that 36 of its schools still need to have snow removed from the roofs. The task could not be completed on Monday, due to poor weather and road conditions.

The Ottawa Carleton School Board tweeted this morning that all their schools will be open today. Bus services will be unavailable for this school board but parents are welcome to drop off their kids at schools. The GO Transit network warned that services will be reduced on Tuesday with delays and cancellations.
