The Canadian navy will get a unique shoutout in China next month as the Winter Olympics are set to begin. Canada’s Olympic bobsled is designed to pay homage to the Royal Canadian Navy. Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton made sleds designed with a Second World War-era disruptive paint scheme.
According to Bobsled Canada Skeleton, the blue-and-white design is meant to honour the sacrifices of Canadian sailors during the Second World War. It is also meant to celebrate those who continue to serve the country on the ocean. The Canadian frigate HMCS Regina and coastal defense vessel HMCS Moncton had the same commemorative dazzle paint in 202 to mark the 7dth anniversary of the end of the Battle of the Atlantic.
Sarah Storey, President of Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton said” Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton is tremendously proud to be associated with the Royal Canadian Navy, which was long, strong and honourable tradition of supporting and defending our country,”
