There is a special weather statement in effect from Environment Canada for Toronto and the GTA. A low pressure system is expected to bring “a messy mix of wintry precipitation” to the region.
Starting late Wednesday rain will begin falling and could total 25 millimetres. It could then potentially transition into ice pellets and freezing rain by Thursday afternoon according to Environment Canada.
Thursday evening is expected to bring a snowfall of up to eight centimetres by Friday. The system should taper off later that morning.
