Drivers in Ontario can expect to pay less at the pumps as gas prices are set to drop 10 cents per litre by Friday. In southern Ontario, the average price of gas per litre hit $2.099 on Wednesday. That was an increase of 12- cents since last Friday.
On Thursday morning, prices dropped three cents to 2.069 per litres and are set to fall even more. Dan McTeague, the President of Canadians for Affordable Energy said the drop is driven by the unease of global markets over a potential recession. Prices at gas stations have been elevated since February.
According to Natural Resources Canada, the average price for regular gasoline hit $2.06 per litre on Monday, with the most expensive prive being in Vancouver at $2.34 a litre. Statistics Canada announced on Wednesday that annual inflation rate rose to 6.8 per cent year-over-year in April.
