After losing the first two games in the series, Tampa Bay trails 2-1 in the NHL Stanley Cup Final. Steven Stamkos, Andrej Palat, and Patrick Maroon each scored a goal to help the Lightning to a 6-2 win on Monday Night. The Lightning keep their hopes alive for a three-peat. Game 3 had Tampa Bay at home which gave them an extra edge.
The victory is pretty big as the last game they were blown out 7-0. If Tampa Bay can take this series back and win, they will become the first franchise in nearly 40 years to win three consecutive NHL titles.
cooper said “there’s a reason why we’re here and there’s a reason why we won tonight. There’s a reason why this has gone on for the last couple of years, … The guy you need to lead you have been doing that, and then everybody falls in line.”
