British Columbia is still seeing high temperatures across the province as the heat wave continues to hit the province. According to Environment Canada, 10 records for July 27 were either broken or tied due to the heat.

Vancouver experienced its hottest July 27 on record as it warmed up to 30.4 C, breaking the previous record set in 1998. Lytton recorded its hottest temperature ever seen in the country last summer but also broke a record this week. On Wednesday, it reached 42 C in that area.

Environment Canada said that “A strong ridge of high pressure continues to bring a heat wave to British Columbia this week.” Other areas that broke temperature records were Cache Creek, Clinton, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Mackenzie, Nelson, and the Puntzi Mountain area.
