    On Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Ottawa would spend an additional $204 million to help Indigenous communities fight the pandemic.

    Trudeau said that the government would provide $120 million to help child-care facilities and support early learning in the First Nations, Inuit, and Metis communities. 

    “Access to safe and culturally relevant early learning and child care is essential to the recovery of Indigenous communities from COVID-19,” Trudeau said.
