Canada has planned to send their largest team of athletes since the 1984 games. 371 Canadians will be flying to Tokyo soon to prepare for the Summer Olympics. The Canadian Olympic Committee announced today the exact 371 athletes who will be starting July 23 in Tokyo.

Out of the total group, 225 are women athletes and 146 are men. This is the largest team they have had in the past 37 years. The last time they had more was during the Summer Games in Los Angeles in 1984.

Amongst the athletes will be 131 coaches that will support the athletes throughout. The Tokyo Games were scheduled for last year but the pandemic forced the event to be delayed until 2021. Even now Tokyo and other parts of Japan are still in states of emergency so no fans will be allowed at any venue.
