This Thursday, eight members of the New York Yankees have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus despite being vaccinated. Each player was vaccinated by the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and seven out of the eight players have no symptoms. They received the shot at least two weeks before testing positive on Thursday.

In U.S. trials for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine reported it was 72% effective against the virus and 85% effective against severe COVID-19. Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna both recorded about 95% effectiveness against COVID-19

It is not possible to contract the virus from any of those vaccines because none of them contain the actual coronavirus. If someone does get infected after being fully vaccinated the symptoms would be much less severe. Dr. Jonathan Reiner, professor of medicine and surgery at George Washington University said, it is similar to how a flu vaccine would work.
