Bianca Andreescu from Canada has withdrawn out of the Strasbourg open on Tuesday after abdominal discomfort. This comes right after a win over Belgian qualifier Maryna Zanevska. They competed for 65 minutes and Adreescu won with a score of 6-1 and 6-4.

The abdominal pain was felt in her side during the second set and she referred to it as “a little discomfort”. She also explained she did not want to risk the discomfort from getting worse ahead of the upcoming French Open.

In a post-match interview, Adreescu said to reporters “I don’t think it’s anything serious.” But in the past, she has ignored injuries and they just got worse.

Andreescu is rated No. 7 in the world and is from Mississauga, Ontario. She won two straight-set victories at the WTA 250-level tournament after returning from a 7-week absence. This clay-court event is meant to refine their skills for the second Grand Slam of the tennis season.
